I messed up the speedometer needle on my scion tc when I was painting it and I want to get a new one. The one I have still works its just not as bright. I called toyota and they said you had to buy the whole gauge cluster which is $305.00 Does anyone know where to get a new one? or have one for some reason that I could buy? Thanks in advance.

It is 305 plus labor as they have to take off fuel tank and install new float also. Let Toyota do as they will give warranty while you may get 6 months from mechanic.

I don't see why you need to pay the diagnostic fee if you are under bumper-to-bumper warranty. Go talk to another dealership or demand talking to the service manager. Call Toyota corporate if you have to. And not to be sexist, bring a male relative with you next time. It's even better if he knows about car. It could be as simple as the plug comes off the back of the gauge cluster.

try some scion forums..

sounds like an odd part, maybe they have aftermarket needle sets out there with all the needles..not sure if you'll be able to get just one
