Has your car got a imbobilsier? It may have something to do with that..try turning the steering wheel when you put the key in the ignition..

Both answers seem to be what could be the problem...
But a dead battery sounds more like it. It is not uncommon for brand new cars to have dead batteries some times. Think about it. All the car does is sit on the lot. If it sits there for a month without being started, the battery will go dead. Starting the engine usually recharges the battery, but if it hasnt been recharged before, and sitting there draining, it could need replacing.
It is something the dealership should take care of no problem.

Its probably a faulty key most keys now have the electronic sender and reader tech. your sender(key) or Reader(inside ignition) is bad. It sounds like you just bought it take it back to the dealer and make them pay for the towing. if it was the battery it wouldn`t click or the light wouldn`t come on (no battery no lights.!!) and if you tried all of the other keys you might have a bad reader. Or it could be a bad BCS(body controll sensor). but thats last priority!!!!!!!!!

your ignition isn't synced with your key's, since the key's are corresponded with the car, sometimes they work the first day or two, but when they get used a few times, it changes settings. take your key or have someone come to your house and tow it or something to a scion dealer, they can fix it, you won't have to pay anything, possibly a 20 dollar service charge, but that's it.. ALso it could have something to do with the steering column.
